A Little Bit Country Decorations

About Country Decorations
Country decorations can turn your house into a home. A country home says to a visitor, we are glad you are here. A country home says come in and take your shoes off and sit awhile.
When you visit a country home, or look through a magazine devoted to country style, take note of the little things. It is the country decorations that set a country home apart.
- candles
- wreaths...on doors or on walls
- groups of collections...baskets, dolls, sea shells, teddy bears
- afgans and quilts...quilts can be draped over chairs or banisters and used as table coverings
- Bunches of herbs and flowers hanging to dry in the kitchen
You can have your own little touch of the country anywhere even in the busiest of cities. You don't need to force that country feeling, it comes easily. If it makes you smile, if it gives you a shiver of nostalga then it is probably a bit of country that you should add to your home.
A nice way to say country with the fall weather coming on is by using autumn leaves and produce from your garden or a farmers market.
Make a display on a sideboard or entrance table. When the leaves start changing gather branches and drop them into a large vase or basket. An old metal bucket works well here also or if you have it an old metal milk container. Fill a large bowl, with gourds, small pumpkins, berries from hedges or bushes. This is also a nice place for a decorative display of candles. The very best thing about using leaves and produce for decorative displays is the upkeep. No watering needed.
Please don't forget flowers. Fall is the perfect time for flowers. Mums, Cone flowers. In the autumn, flowers can brighten up the corners of your country home. Get big baskets of hardy Mums and place them to the sides of your doorway or near the fireplace. Yes you do need to water but it is worth it.
