Candles make good country decorations

Candles make wonderful country decorations. They add a feeling of warmth, fragrance and atmosphere to a home.
Cluster pillar candles of different sizes on a pewter or wood charger. Tie candles to your floral displays visually by using bunches of leaves and silk flowers tucked around the bases. A candle in the window is an old world custom that has become popular during the holidays and can be quite effective any time of the year. You'll want to use a flame-less candle for this.
Candles can be used in any room in the house. Try lighting a candle in the kitchen to help absorb cooking odors. In the summer months set a display of pillar candles of different sizes in your empty fireplace opening. This can be quite nice on a stormy summer evening.
There are many different candles out there to choose from:
- Paraffin wax candles
- Soy candles
- Beeswax candles
- Flame-less
Paraffin wax candles are a petroleum based product. These are the candles most of us have been brought up with. There are problems with a paraffin based candle.
- Paraffin is the leftover by-product from the petroleum refining process.
- When a paraffin candle is burned, it produces toxic black, soot.
- Paraffin wax burns hot, producing a faster burning candle.
Soy candles. Soy candles are a more natural alternative to paraffin wax candles.
- Soybean wax is produced using hydrogenated soybean oil.
- Soy wax is non-toxic and non-carcinogenic.
- Soy candles burn cooler and produce a longer lasting candle.
- Soy candles burn virtually soot free (keep your wick trimmed and away from a breeze).
Beeswax candles are wonders of nature. Beeswax is the most elegant materal used in candle making.
- Beeswax candles are non-toxic, non-polluting
- Beeswax candles have a fresh honey scent
- Beeswax candles are great for those with allergies because they contain no additives
- Beeswax candles have a high melting point and burn longer than other candles.
- When manufactured properly beeswax candles are smokeless and drip free
Flameless candles are a modern marvel.
- Most flame-less candles use a battery
- A flame-less candle can be used safely virtually anywhere
- A flame-less candle can flicker just like the real thing
- Flame-less candles can look just like the real thing, smooth or embossed
- Flame-less candles are great for window sills and home with children, animals and clumsy adults
- Some of the newer flame-less candles are scented
As you can see candles can make great country decorations. Choose your type. Choose a setting. Light your country home with candles.
